Title: Student Welfare Scheme
Objectives of the Practice
- To provide financial support to the poor students to meet their expenses towards various academic requirements in the forms of books
- To give limited assistance to the students to meet their mess charges, clothing.
- To provide bicycles to needy students from remote areas.
- To financially assist economically weaker topper/ meritorious students to pursue higher education
- The Context:
Student welfae Scheme was initiated with an goal to Provide interesting and challenging learning programs. Assist weaker as well as topper students towards full participation in college educational programs, extracurricular and cultural Activities. The scheme called Students Welfare Fund by Teaching and non-teaching staff members helps a student’s educational process to advance their academic as well as personal abilities. It targets at avoiding the deterrents that may come in the path of a student’s learning process so that they can be qualified professionally in future. This committee complies with the policies set by Committee members in order to facilitate a positive academic environment to the students and help them to proceed in their career with minimal obstruction.Student welfare scheme promotes and co-ordinates the different students’ activities for better academic, social as well as corporate life. Student welfare scheme tries to nurture students’ mental, physical, cultural growth with various activities to improve their overall personality development. - The Practice:
The Student Welfare Scheme was established on 17-09-2014.Initially a committee was formed which manages this scheme. This committee collect the 0.5% percent form their monthly salary. Committee open a bank account in the IDBI Bank for maintenance and to create transparency in the process of scheme. Every year needy students from BA, BCom and BSc are recognized and uniforms are distributed to them on 15th August . Depending upon the results topper meritorious students with weak economic background are given financial assistance or Competitve/ Specific Entrance Books are given for further studies

- Evidence of Success:
- This practice has helped the students to maintain regularity on time for college as bicycle helped for easy transportation.
- Students who could not afford uniform, and were left behind due to their econimic conditions were coming in regular steam.
- Students who were unable to pursue higher education due to economic issues were financially supported for their further education.
- Problems encountered and resources required.
- As saoli is situated in the rural and backward area near tribal Gadchiroli we had many students who were eligible for this criteria.
- Selection of the students based on economic condition was a constant for selection of the students for the welfare fund.
- Some students were discouraged after not getting the benefit.
- Adequate financial resources and their fulfilment was a challenge.
