Vision:
It is our aim to develop the Faculty of Commerce into a centre of Academic excellence through appropriate innovative and need base pattern of teaching and learning. Providing value based and quality education in commerce to rural students, making them aware of socio-economic changes and sustainable development. Our efforts are to set high parameters of quality in higher education of global standards.
Mission:
- To train the students of rural areas with required skills for self employment.
- To teaching the art of knowledge in subject like human resource, management and accounting.
- To prepare students for higher education in commerce and management.
- To serve the people and strive for the spread of business education.
- To spread the education of commerce among poor and deprived sections of society which may lead to their economic upliftment.
About the Department:
Commerce is a blood stream of the nation and it is the basic requirements for development. Commerce education play a vital role in the economic growth of the country. Commerce thus embraces all those functions involved in the making, buying, selling and transport of goods. As a subject of organize study, commerce has recently come to the fore today, the subject is prime importance as the nation that for most in the world have what may be called commercial rather than industrial economics, with commercial activities and occupations attracting the largest part of both capital and labour resources.
Bharat Shikshan Prasarak Mandal was established in 14th Feb., 1966 under which the Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi Arts, Commerce and Science College is started in 1994 with a vision to provide good quality education to students from rural area and also started faculty commerce with B.Com.in Marathi medium in session 2009-10 and M.Com (Marathi medium) started in session 2014-15.
The Faculty of Commerce plays a very strong role for the overall development of the students. We provide various activities and some extension activities for the students with their regular curriculum.
